Notes on outpatient treatment
Smoke-free Hospital
Declaration of Smoke-free Hospital Campus
Smoking is said to be related not only to lung cancer but also to cancer development in other various organs. It is also known to cause many diseases including but not limited to respiratory diseases, angina pectoris and myocardial infarction, and strokes. As the hospital is one of the "Designated Cancer Care Hospitals," it has banned smoking within the entire hospital campus since June 1, 2003, in order to prevent health hazards due to smoking and improve the medical care environment.
Smoking also interferes with recovery from illness. It is also known that the smoke exhaled by smokers causes health hazards to people around them. For patients to go through medical operations, continuous smoking increases the risk of postoperative pneumonia. For inpatients, we highly recommend that you commit to stopping smoking for prompt recovery from your medical condition, and we encourage you to continue to be a non-smoker for the rest of your life.
In order to create a clean and comfortable hospital environment appropriate for medical treatment, we also ask visitors who come along with the patient or visit inpatients for cooperation.
