1 Special initial consultation fee/Special follow-up consultation fee

Specialist hospitals and regional medical care support hospitals with 200 beds or more are required to charge fixed fees for the initial consultation and follow-up consultation with the aim of allocating functions between regional hospitals/clinics and major hospitals—primary care by the former and advanced/specialized care by the latter—and promoting cooperation among community healthcare providers.
Effective as of September 1, 2018, our hospital collects the following fees from patients:

Special initial consultation fee	Initial consultation without referral letter	￥7,700 (tax included)
Special follow-up consultation fee	In cases where a patient in a stable condition received a follow-up consultation at our hospital despite his/her doctor’s offer to write a referral letter to another medical facility	￥3,300 (tax included)

-The above also applies to holders of the National Health Insurance Elderly Recipient Certificate and Child Medical Expense Recipient Certificate.
-Patients who receive a medical consultation for the first time at the Dental Surgery department are charged the special initial consultation fee even if they have been receiving treatment at another clinical department after paying the special initial consultation fee for that department.

2 Self-pay care fee

Those receiving medical services that are not covered by Japanese health insurance are charged 20 yen per point.
